Fewer youth protection and probation hours per child

Youth care offices must improve their accounts; State Secretary for V&J makes financial undertaking

The use of fewer personnel per child than set out in the implementation agreements for criminal justice measures is the most important method used to balance the budgets of youth care offices. Children placed under a supervision order, for example, receive less assistance than the youth care offices and the Ministry of Security and Justice (V&J) agree is necessary. The youth care offices' accounting systems must be organised so that the cost of the measures can be calculated. The audit findings prompted the State Secretary for V&J to make a financial undertaking.
